Dragon Boating

Dragon boating is a fun-filled, adrenaline pumping, water sports activity. Dragon boats are large canoe-like vessels fitted with ornately carved dragon heads and tails. Crews sit in pairs and paddle with a drummer beating time to keep the paddlers in unison and a helmsperson in the stern guiding the boat.

Our fleet consists of a "Baby Dragon" that accommodates up to eight paddlers, a drummer, and a helmsperson. Perfect for a team building adventure or simply to explore the New Haven Harbor, our dragon boat is available for rent between the months of April and October. Our boathouse will provide an experienced helmsperson, paddles, and PFDs (personal flotation devices). Renters are welcome to bring their own paddle and PFD. Minimum age to participate is nine years old.

Racing in dragon boats is a favorite among charities and corporations for its fundraising and team-building benefits.
