Learn to Row Youth Summer Camp

Intro to Rowing

(9th-12th Grade)

Interested in learning how to row?

Each summer, Canal Dock Boathouse offers local high schoolers this very opportunity!

Taught by experienced coaches, activites include learning how to row in singles, proper equipment handling and care, water safety, land training on Concept2 RowErgs, a mixture of plyometric & stretching exercises, and technical instruction.

 

No prior experience is necessary!

Our summer camps are a great way for youth to safely explore the New Haven Harbor, Quinnipiac River, and the Mills River! What are you waiting for? With a maximum of eleven (11) campers per session, reserve your spot now!

Learn to Row Youth Summer Camp

1-WEEK SESSIONS AVAILABLE   |   MONDAY - FRIDAY

Program Fees:

  • $350 per 1-week session, Monday-Friday, 4 hours per day (8am-12pm)

  • Open to all high school aged youth, 9th-12th grade. FREE to New Haven public school students (register as Grant Funded to take advantage)

What’s included?

  • 2-3 rowing/fitness sessions per day

  • Official Canal Dock gear (UV hat or polyester t-shirt)

  • Refueling snacks and fluids

General Activity Schedule (weather permitting):

  • First 15 Minutes – Drop-off/group meeting/snack

  • 60 Minutes: Rowing & fitness

  • 20 Minutes: Break/water/wnack

  • 90 Minutes: Rowing & fitness

  • 40 Minutes: Warm down and wash and store equipment

  • Final 15 Minutes: Break/water/snack/pick-up
