Sail Haven Boat Maintenance and Repair Session 5

Saturday, March 28th, 9am-12pm.

We are working on repairs and maintenance to get our fleet ready for the 2026 season. We have two, new to us, Flying Scots. They need all sorts of repairs and modifications to make them Community boating ready.

We really can use a Floor Jack. If you have one you can bring, please email me at joel.zackin871@gmail.com

Tasks for this Saturday include:

  • Pad Eyes for Flying Scot Travelers.
  • New powerboat trolly system for storing the boat off the dock.
  • Attempt to reseat ramp on skid pads on the dock
  • Prep work for varnishing rudders, tillers, CBs and CB trunk cap.
  • New Flying Scots' masthead, new sheaves for all line halyards. and install line.
  • Tack cleats for Daysailor's reefing tack.
  • Kick up rudder fittings/rework for FS "Aurelian's rudder.
  • Trailer tires valve stem caps - install 7.
  • Flip the Buccaneer/return to trailer/remount motor.
  • New thwarts for Buccaneer.
  • Fenders for Buccaneer.
  • Deck straps for mast raising on FS ______.
  • Nomad, new mainsheet system:
    • Mount ratchet block.
    • Mount blocks on the boom (new beckets).
    • Straps for mainsheet hanger.
  • Other jobs that might occur to us!
Please come join us! Many hands make light work. No experience is necessary.

We will be painting, sanding, varnishing, and doing other messy jobs, please wear work clothes.
