Hollis Martens

Executive Director

Upon the completion of her recent five-year appointment as the Director of Youth Services at LifeBridge Community Services, Hollis Martens will become Canal Dock’s first executive director. A life-long resident of New Haven, Hollis brings a decade of non-profit management experience. Program development and grant management encompass just some of the relevant skills Hollis brings to bear on her new position. At LifeBridge Hollis developed a reputation for creating innovative programs and implementing inclusive services that promoted enrichment experiences, educational programming and workforce development for youth and families residing in The Greater Bridgeport Area. Hollis began her nonprofit career at The WorkPlace, where she assisted youth and young adults who struggled economically by guiding their enrollment in educational and occupational skills training programs to help them attain economic stability. Graduating from Southern Connecticut State University in 2005, Hollis earned a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, and continues work towards an M.S. degree. As a former competitive swimmer, Hollis has a life-long love of watersports and a desire to enhance programs and opportunities that serve the residents of New Haven.
